Have skills with computers and willing to share your skills with others? Northeast Community Center wishes to train 12 volunteers to assist in our public access computer lab. Duties during the 4-hour shift will include signing in users, observing to assure appropriate use and willingness to address inappropriate use, assisting users as they encounter difficulties in navigating various applications, and reliable in attendance. During your shift, you may also be requested to assist the office staff with other projects, such as preparing mailings. Must be at least 18 years of age. Teaching and facilitating 4 classes of four-session each that assist families with their qualifications for securing stable housing through the housing voucher assistance program. Volunteers must complete training, use the curriculum provided, entitled “Responsible Renters” and must commit to providing a minimum of 4 classes per year. Times for the classes will be selected by the presenter in cooperation with NECCA’s RVP coordinator, and with the objective of providing training options that support the needs of the applicant families. All classes will be offered in the Community Center. Two years of college or related work experience preferred. Ideal for education students, retired teachers or company trainers.
