The Steering Committee of the Peer Navigator Training Program and Community Engagement Initiative In partnership with the Racial Equity Committee and Wilburn and Associates is hosting a Courageous Conversation Community event in celebration of Black Heritage Month!

Please join us for a dynamic event featuring panelists Ricky Kidd (the innocent black man who was incarcerated for 23 years and recently exonerated),
Francis Adewale, Spokane City Public Defender/Co-Chair Racial Equity Committee
Larry Haskell, Spokane County Prosecutor, Jocelyn Cook, Spokane County Public Defender, Superior Court Judges Maryann Moreno and Charnelle Bjelkengren,
James Wilburn, Community Leader/Advocate and
David Carlson, Disability Rights WA.

 

Ricky Kidd hugs his sister, Nechelle Kidd, after being freed from the Western Missouri Correctional Center on Thursday, Aug. 15. DeKalb County Circuit Court Judge Daren Adkins ordered Kidd’s release on Wednesday, finding him innocent of the 1996 double murder for which he was convicted in 1997.
